I want to be a School Counselor because I aspire to be the person for struggling students that I wish I had when I was in school. I remember not long ago sitting in the same seats as these students and feeling all of the insecurities, life pressures and anxiety that comes with being an adolescent. School, although a wonderful place for many, can be a trying experience for others. Therefore, my hope as a school counselor is to create a welcoming environment in which my students can thrive socially, emotionally and academically. I will cheer them on during their best days and help pick them back up on their worst. I am a patient and nurturing team-player who wants to see the underdog succeed. I do not believe in giving up on anyone for I believe each person has the ability to accomplish anything they set their mind to. However, sometimes people just need some guidance to help see that for themselves. I truly believe that it is a blessing to be able to be that support system and I hope I can make a difference in a students life.
